Two marksmen standing some distance apart and facing each other fire their rifles at the same time with the intent of both bullets hitting each other. The first marksmen has a relatively powerful rifle which fires at 2000 ft/sec while the second marksmen's rifle fires at 1500 ft/sec.
The first marksmen fires at a 45 degree angle relative to the horizon. What is the distance between the marksmen and what is the second marksmen's rifle angle. HINT: I believe the distance and second marksmen rife angel is unique for the two muzzle velocities. Also, ignore air friction. Kids, don't try this at home!

The Marksman
A marksman fires a rifle pointed horizontally (0 degrees vertical). The velocity of the bullet is 1000 ft/sec. Ignore air friction. The distance between the rifle and the ground is 3 feet. How far does the bullet travel before hitting the ground. (Hint: the marksman is on earth and not the moon).
Working Together
OK, here is another type of puzzle.
It takes Joe 4 hours complete a job. It takes John 6 hours to perform the same task while Bob can do it is 5 hours and Carl takes only 3 hours. How long will it take to complete the job is they all work together.

Coffee, Beans and other Things.
Here is a new puzzle,
Joe buys 1 lb of coffee, 2 lbs of beans, and 1 lb of butter for a total of $6.99.
Paul buys 2 lbs of coffee, 1 lb of beans, and 1 lb of butter for $10.32.
Mark buys 2 lbs of coffer, 3 lbs of beans, and 1 lb of butter for $11.46.
What is the cost per lb of coffee, beans, and butter.
Hopefully this is a little harder that the 12 year old child.

Equation using 1, 5, 6, and 7 which equals 21
OK, I finally remember a neat puzzle presented by a college professor while I was still working at Raytheon.
What is the equation which equals 21 and only uses the numbers 1, 5, 6, and 7?
